2006 F-650 6.0 diesel question

I have a 2006 F-650 with a 6.0 diesel. I know all the common issues with these engines, but I have a problem I can't figure out. When the truck is cold the engine will not accelerate. I can put the throttle pedal to the floor and it just idles. After it warms up it runs fine and has good power. No check engine light. Any ideas?

I couldn't find your problem surfing through the 6.0 forum, so let's see what happens here for a day. Do you have a way to try to read codes? Sometimes there are stored codes even without the CEL.

I have a code reader for a pickup, but I think the plug in is different.

I tried it. The plug is the same but this is what I got from my scanner. The first two are "yes," so I am guessing it is #3.

I don't have anything useful to offer, but if I had to guess, you would likely need to use Navistar and/or medium duty truck diagnostic tools to communicate with and pull DTCs from the PCM, just as would be needed on Ford's LCF trucks from 2006 to 2009 model years (corporate twins to Navistar's CF trucks).

Added: With the tool connected to the grey round connector that's adjacent to the OBD II port.
