I’m looking to buy new headlight housings (lens) for a 2000 Ex. I’ll be using Philips Crystal Vision Ultra bulbs. I do NOT want to run HIDs or LEDs. Will also be using the Brite Box dual beam highbeam setup.
Given the above set up, which are the best headlight assemblies for me to purchase. Looking for the brightest possible light. Thanks
I put on new OEM from an 06 on my 00. I like them way more than the aftermarket 03 style I originally installed. There a pretty big quality difference in this case. 05-07 housings were also cheaper than the 03-04 style
Lots of excellent right ups on how to do it if you arent afraid of some trimming.
but you can’t use the same bulbs with the 05-07 housings, they are 9008 bulbs and the pins are smaller so I wouldn’t try to run both filaments at the same time
I used a cheap set off amazon. The headlight and signal are two pieces, no trimming required. I believe they are 2004 knock offs, can anyone confirm that oem 2004 lights were two piece with clear lenses?
I bought a set from headlightsdepot.com . I replaced my old 2 piece units with the Harley style newer model one piece units. Not a hard job, just messy when it comes to trimming the header piece. Looks worlds better IMO.
So am I understanding that the 2003-2004 Ford OEM clear lenses are the best if I want to continue to run the 9007 bulbs with the Brite Box (dims & brights together)?
The OEMs on my 2003 started to haze and I didn't really care for the projection styles I found for the EX, so I chose the original OEM with 6 LED daytime running lights. I also upgrade the blub to the HYB 9007 Ultra High-Performance Halogen 6000K 80watt. Bumper lights were changed out in 2003 and are just starting to haze. Pic during install
