Our 2019 F350 Diesel has lost power twice while towing our 8K 5th wheel when on a downgrade passing large semis. A quick switch to "Auto" restores power. Any suggestions or ideas? This is no time to have control issues.

How many RPM's are you turning when it happens? The scenario I've experienced is Tow/Haul + Exhaust Brake, in Auto mode, going
downhill, truck has shifted to 4th, engine turning 3500-3800 rpm. As the grade levels out I step on the accelerator and the pedal is dead.
If I switch off Tow/Haul it will then upshift and I can put if back into Tow/Haul. Sometimes, even if I can accelerate, it still won't upshift on
it's own.

I've seen the same thing. Mine gets stuck in 3rd. Increasing the RPM's as much a thousand will eventually get it to upshift. Instead, I shift to M and then blip it up to the next gear. There is one hill that this always happens on. I've learned to start in M at the top.

I'm guessing about 2000 or so. I really was wasn't paying attention. But this seems to describe the situation. We're dueling it out with a bunch of big rigs some slow, some screaming down the grade. We were at 4000 foot plus and at about 6% grade. It was definitely a white knuckle situation on I-5 on a Sunday afternoon.

Same experience here. You would think if it is screaming at 3,500 RPM and you give it some pedal, it will upshift, not always the case. Turning off Tow/Haul works though...one of those small annoyances...
Has anyone complained to a dealer? We were convinced something was wrong with the truck. Losing power on a grade in traffic is definitely a safety issue. Scared the living daylights out of me and alarmed my wife. I we were at home we would definitely be at the service window raising a fuss. Right now we are out of service reach.

The only thing I've done so far is ask if there were any updates to the transmission programming.
Were currently 1500 miles into a 2500 mile road trip and now have had 2 serious instances of surging, and loss of power. Were towing a 8K 5th wheel. Ours seems to be related to TOW_HAUL and our ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. There is another thread where this is discussed. It can be searched I'' try to post the link later.
Less than 7K on the beast.
