Guys, I love my truck, so when I say this Im not trying to put Ford down because I do like it. This is the first ford I have owned and I have had (between all the cars my wife and I have had) several different vehicles. Chevy, GMC, Pontiac,Lexus, Toyota, Dodge etc etc etc. My 2019 F250 with the Ruby Red color came in back in Oct or so. I started seeing little paint chips on the hood, and I found two above the left front fender flare area all around 10-12k miles. When this paint chips it does to a white color so you notice a little more than others I guess. What gives, none of the other vehicles we have ever owned has done this. I did put different tires on but I have no chips in the bottom front of the doors where you would usually see this.
Cant comment on having a lift but my 19 RR with only 2500 miles has 4 of 5 chips already on the hood, 2 on the driverside rear door and one on the tailgate already...
Wow that's kinda disappointing, especially because these trucks are not cheap by any means. Like I was saying I started noticing them around 10-12k aprox. I have 20k on it now and have had a body shop touch up mine so they look smoother and level than what I had with my paint pen. It is smoother but the touch ups are darker in color. Don't get me wrong, they are way less noticeable than the white so I'm fine with how they fixed it. They did tell me this RR paint is really hard since it's a three stage or process paint. Im looking into 3M film now, hopefully I won't chip anymore out before I get it done. The 3M laser cut film is expensive though geez.
That is one sharp color and I’d love to have it but I had an 08 Silverado that was similar color and it too showed all the chips and like you said with the color they really stand out
My ruby red had several chips in it as well. I bought the Dr Colorchip kit and filled them in. Looks way better and can only see a color difference in the big chips. It does seem to chip easier than my beater car.
