1950 F1/F47 Spare Tire Carrier

Completing the restoration of a 1950 F47 truck and am in the need of an original spare tire carrier in very good condition for restoration or even a new reproduction. Have not been able to source a reproduction from the many catalog resources. Also interested in the related fasteners.

I talked to Mid Fifty a while ago and they were still working on this. Although not stock, I think this setup will work fairly well. I bought the eyebolts, yokes and threaded rod from W.W.Grainger. Total cost around $50. The bolts are course thread but the yokes are 1/2" x 20, just like the original. I only have one of the original nuts but I think a standard lug nut will work for the side that doesn't come apart.

I attached a photograph of my spare tire carrier mounting hardware. The eyebolts were sourced from McMaster Carr and have the correct 1/2-20 threads. I replated everything with a kit purchased from Eastwood .I do have one of the original and correct lug nuts but still searching for another. Just finished block sanding the carrier and will finish coat this week. One can see that the location of the spare tire carrier did not make changing a tire an easy task. Probably one of the reasons why this is not a popular item during the restoration process and thus not something cost effective to reproduce.

The lug nuts are difficult to source. Any leads are appreciated.
