Sea Foam prior to oil change.....thoughts?

As heads explode, thinking about following the Sea Foam directions and adding a can prior to the drive home from work (20 Miles) then doing an oil change once home. Sea Foam recommends 100-200 miles. Not ready to do that, unless the forum advises differently.

don't kill me.

Dont think too much into any anything additive but fuel treatment when its cold. Dump the oil and change with ur favorite flavor. Recommend only motorcraft folter though

My experiences with SeaFoam have been less than stellar. I have never used it on my 7.3 diesel and never will. I have tried it in several gasoline motors from lawn mowers to cars and sometimes the results are nothing and other times the results are that the engine no longer runs.

Another vote of no confidence on Sea Foam for the 7.3 engine. Basic rule of thumb; fuel additives always, oil additives never. Our HEUI injectors like dining on fresh clean oil, anything else is wasabi.

Reason #2 is an oil change never changes all the oil. So some of that Sea Foam will be hiding in the HPOP and oil rails and injectors. You'll never get it flushed out entirely.

You will be surprise how well it worked with some of the 6.dohs at work instantly fixed the stiction on those pesky injectors.
tried once on my 7.3 when it it was part of the fleet and it didn't do squat.

Great feedback! Isn't it weird how both the 6.0 and 7.3 injectors are HEUI yet different in operation? The details matter in how we maintain these things.
