1947 1 ton front drums

Been struggling to find a set of front drums for my 47 Bolt pattern is 5” x 6 7/8”, or large 5 lug is was told they are also called “Budd” type 5 lug bolt pattern. They are large what looks like ¾” studs.
17” wheel diameter. I am trying to keep it as original as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That truck is awesome! I'm a tonner nut if there ever was one. I've got a few parts trucks, but have 2 running jailbar tonners and have already stolen drums from the parts rigs. I am putting parts together for a one ton 'junkyard dog' wrecker for my little junkyard here on the hill. Those front tires are exceptional. Are those one piece wheels? Here I am all full of questions and I don't have an answer about your inquiry. You might try Bob Selzam in New Jersey. I'll try to find his contact info. Best of luck, that's a nice truck you have there! Keep us in the loop.

Thank you, it is a one piece wheel they are the original centers. A gentlemen in Bloomington California took 17 x 7 steel wheels cut a few of inches out of the center of the rim, welded them back together with my original centers. They are bias tires and I wanted to still use the tubes. He did say I could go tubeless if I had tubeless tires.

I'm not far from Bloomington and I'm thinking of having the wide five rims on my '39 widened. Could you let me know who did your wheels if they're still around? Thanks.

Bob Selzam is now semi-retired and only does orders by email. He has always specialized in just truck parts and of course only FORD. Pretty much '53 and older. I have bought a lot of NOS and NORS parts from him over the past 35 years. jselzam@optonline.net I haven't tried him on email yet, but fixing to build another engine and I always buy my internals from him. He's very knowledgeable.

I'll second the recommendation to contact Chuck Mantiglia at Chuck's Trucks. I sent an email to him asking if he had a brake drum for my 47 COE. A day later he replied that he had found two of them. Nobody else had one as far as I could tell.

Using email gives him a chance to track a part down before replying.

I can not remember the gentleman's name that I dealt with, super knowledgeable I believe he was the owner. I am on east coast so all discussions where over the phone.
