air conditioning swap 1995 dodge based

I have a 1954 Ford B500 short bus. I am going to put a firewall mounted dash heater/ac system in this bus. I was looking around at units that would fit under the dash/firewall of the bus. I decided I wanted more modern production line stuff because seem like the OEM stuff just works better for heat, defrost, and all the functions. I did not want any sort of electronic controls if possible, simple is the goal. Seems, as far as trucks go, many unit put the evaporator in the engine bay. I have been looking at cars and trucks and decided I would try and see how the unit from a 1995 dodge 3500 truck would fit, cold/hot is cable operated, you never actually turn off the heater, just close the door to it. I will add a separate cable shut off valve in the engine compartment. doors are vacuum operated, mechanical unit. and then the fan switch. I will post pictures when i try to test fit and beyond.

Being a bus have you given any thought to rear AC/Heat?
My 02 Dodge Durango has rear heat & ac I have not look to close at it but the heat part works pretty good.
Because it is so large it takes a bit to cool down the inside. I do find it cools better driving on the highway than stop n go traffic.

Heat will be two or three heaters. One fire wall mount for defrost, drivers and shotgun. one about three or four feet from the front windshield mounted under one of the tandem bus seats. A third will be mounted at the rear near the toilet/ water tank. All of the heaters and engine will be connected to diesel fired engine coolant heater system. This will be able to run on a thermostat, a timer or manual control. They are made for buses and the big ones have a circulation coolant pump, and fuel pump. The heaters in the rear can be run as radiant heaters or turn on fans and run as forced air. The fans will be able to run with the heat off, to aid in air flow when fresh air or air conditioning is being used.

I want to like the dodge truck hvac system, but the box is too long for my liking left to right. For now I am canning the idea and going on. I will let this roll around in my head for while.
