Greasing New Bearing Assemblies?

Hello, anyone greasing brand new front bearing assemblies through the antilock hole on the 4x4 's ? I apparently waited too long, (55k) on my Timken's and one is still growling softly at me. Just wondered when and how often we are all doing the forced grease routine. Thanks ! Everyone have a great weekend !!!

Did you grease them when you first put them in? You should of used the best grease you can buy and there wouldn't be a problem at 55K. But I don't know why you can't grease them threw the hole if there not bad already.

There is a fellow on the Excursion forum: "ArmyLifer" who makes a fitting for the cost of postage that makes this task easy peasy.
From what I have read, many folks fill the ABS hole completely up. I grease when new and personally use about 20 pumps on the grease gun. Many add grease once a year.

Bonanza35, Thanks, No, I did not pump any grease in there when they were new, only greased the needle bearings up good. Then one started talking to me and I greased the needle bearings up again and pumped the ABS holes pretty good as i turned the bearing, and could feel the grease resistance as it went into the bearing. But, was too late, it still has a low growl as I can spin the tire and hear it....so I will grease these new ones after installation. I think i remember talking with you awhile up at Andy's a few years back.Hope all is well...!

Thanks jhl3, yes I have the tool from Clay and just neglected my bearings, as I had the originals go 155k and put it out of my mind after putting the new ones in thinking I had years till they went again...!
