Where can I get some real bearing grease? When I was a kid my dad had a 5 gallon bucket of this seriously thick grease. It was so thick that you could stand over the bucket and throw a bearing down at the grease. When it hit, it would stick and you could still see most of the bearing and it didnt sink.
We never burned up a wheel bearing. I packed most of the bearings my self. After that grease got contaminated, we bought autoparts store stiff and I burned up 2 bearings before I learned that there was a bearing for disc brakes.
NAPA had no idea what I was talking about. Does anyone here have any experience with that sort of grease?
I have a little bit of this grease, in small tubs, but that doesnt help you much. its THICK stuff. I use it on chainsaw sprocket bearings and the like to keep em lubed.
