94.5 F250 4X4

Hey everyone,

New to the forum so HOWDY!

I am looking at a very clean 94.5 F250 4X4 with 105k on it and it is a manual transmission.

Coolant flush, water pump, thermostat and upper/lower radiator hoses were just changed/replaced.
Auto locking hubs were converted to manual locking hubs
All fluids and filters changed per manual specs

Other add on parts:
-MSRP 3in downpipe to 4in back
-TS 6 position chip - this has never been put in anything but 75hp. This was added to increase fuel economy.
-Tymar intake
-CTS2 scanner - has engine oil temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, boost psi sensor, and EGT sensor installed.

The truck is priced at 14k with minimum to no rush and the body is perfect with no rust and the interior is perfect.

It is a far drive for me to get this truck and 14k is a lot of money for me so I wanted to get everyone's opinion/things to be on the look out for/common issues/whether or not it is a good truck to purchase.

I am purchasing this truck to haul at the least a 7x14 trailer fully loaded across country.

Thanks!

What cab is it? Regular or crew. 14 isn't necessarily too much. Post pictures

Way overpriced. There are a lot of repairs and maintenance required for such old vehicles. This is why they depreciate in value. The 100k miles doesn't mean much with it's age.His asking price is at least triple what it should be for a 24 year old F250 pickup. When considering a classic vehicle of any sort like this, you better be handy with a wrench,or labor + parts will kill you.

Depending on your region the price might be right, where Im from a clean truck at that age can go anywhere from 4k-10k depending on cab, auto/manual, 4x4, etc.

lol yeah.No ones going to give him 12k for his old 2wd pickup, with who knows how many miles, in desperate need of a paint job.You see about getting quotes these days to fix that paint? Be prepared to be set back a couple grand just to freshening it up.You'll fall out of your seat getting a quote to re-paint that crew cab.I love these old 9th gens as much as the next guy but I'm telling ya,you better buy them right (5k or less) because they're going to suck you dry of parts here and there and your time installing them.
Just like the old IDI engines, same applies here. The old trusty diesel engines ain't no problem (any of the 7.3l's).It's the rest of the trucks' needs that are gunna bleed ya dry lol.

Single cab. Super clean east coast truck but still a 94.5 year.

i am mechanically handy and confident enough. Truck does not seem like it would need much work at least for now.

60000 for new truck? 14000 for a used ,cool old truck? 2000 for a fixer up that you put 40000 into? Doesn't matter it's your truck and forget what they say.

Well, he asked, so it doesn't make sense "forgetting what people say" when he asked in the first place. This is a thread asking what people think, so that's what the OP should expect. Yes OP, it's YOUR life and YOUR decision, but if you are asking, and you are, $14k is a lot of coin for a single cab 94.5 OBS. If you really are wanting an OBS, there are many, many good deals out there for 96-97 years that will give you updated PCMs and a little bit better equipment.

Glenn, you paid that much for a 3 year newer truck with less miles and an extended cab. It does not really compare. By all rights, this truck should be way less if we are comparing to what you paid.

Hey everyone thanks for the responses. I’d have to agree that for it being a 94.5 single cab even though it’s clean 14k just seems to much. If it were a 97 with the upgraded parts it would be a little bit easier to swallow.

I think I am going to pass on this one and continue looking. Keeping an eye on 97 for obs and some 00-03’s.

the hunt continues! Thanks again for all the input guys.
