Low speed, Hard to start

What do you mean by “hard to start”? Do you mean the engine turns over slowly and takes forever to finally run (as in a weak battery), or does it crank beautifully and just takes too long to fire itself and run?
If its the latter, check the fuel pressure at the rail by the injectors. Fuel pump failures are more common than other issues. If fuel pressure is good, how do the plugs look? Install new plugs and drive the thing, then pull the plugs and read them. Check for deposits or if the insulator is too dark (or too light).
Poor compression can cause this, but I’d start at a fuel supply issue here.
