I've had the cooled seats on this truck and my previous '15 and the bottom is more noticeable than the back is on the bucket seats w/ console. I don't know if there's any difference between the bench seats and bucket seats. Here in FL, the cooled seats are a godsend in the summer!!!
I've had three Super Duty trucks (2015 Lariat, 2016 King Ranch, 2017 Lariat) plus two Lincolns with the heated / cooled seats.
In all cases, the backrest seat cooling was almost unnoticeable while the seat base would actually chill. I'm guessing it has to do with more weight on the seat base somehow affects it.
I'm currently driving a 2017 XLT Super Duty with cloth. The seats are heated only, and they get *much* warmer than the heated seats in the trucks with the heated / cooled option. Living in NH means the seat heaters are more important, so I'm happy.
