Front leather buckets

I have a 2007 EL Limited with 8000 miles on it and both front seats are wearing already as you roll out of the Truck , I could tell this was going to happen after about a month. Not enough coushin on the seat where it meets the plastic moulding. The seats are plenty comfortable but I can see this being a problem down the road.
Also has anyone noticed that the heated seat mainly heats your back and not so much your bottom?

Personally I would just rather have the faux-leather that is used on the second and third row seats. It appears that the material is much more durable and would show less wear over the "Leather-Appointed" front seats in which the only surfaces that have leather on them are the seat back and bottom.

Not too sure about the heated seats though. Haven't really had a chance to use them yet.

Even if the dealer replaces it, in another 6 months we will all be in the same boat. They should have put the 'pleather' in this high friction area.

Mine are still new, and based on the way I started to get in and out, I realized that this would heavily wear the seats. I now get in and out using the A-pillar grab handle and take some load off the seat before turning to get out. I think that this will help.

My '93 Club Wagon suffered this, too, but it took 111K miles and 14 years to get down to the foam.

Bottom line: stop sliding out and instead, step out of the vehicle.

I have been doing the same thing as the handle makes things easier BUT I am still showing some wear and I have 2700 and some change on her. Side note I have been complaining about the gas milage but I have taken 2 trips in 4 days and the best was 19.1 and worest was 17.2. I think she does great on the highway.

How bad are your seats? Same as the pic?

Yeah, the heavy expy does pretty good cruisin' the highway. It's gettin her up to 88mph.... that sucks the tank dry.

I was wondering the same thing. I live in New England and last nite drove for 15 minutes and by the time I got home and the seats were hardly warm. Seemed pretty useless to me. Not sure if they are all like that or I should bring it in and talk to the dealer.

Do these heated seats use elements of just hot air blown through them?

My last truck, a 05 F-150 King Ranch had heated seats and you could not take the highest setting more than 10 minutes.

The Expy uses a peltier effect element like the small 12 volt coolers that either heat or cool. There is one in the base of each seat with a fan and filter that blows the hot or cold air into the seats.
