9 months ago I found this site trying to figure out how to safely get my new to me truck up and running again. It sat for about 7 years unused and un touched. A good friend gave it to me as he was moving out of the country and lost interest in it.
Through a lot of questions and answers I pecked away at all the small issues and got it up and running again. Since then I've added a leveling kit, 5th wheel hitch, off road running lights, cobra CB for jawing with the fellow off road'ers and moved up to some BFG 35's. I honestly don't think I would of done it without the help I received here. You all know who you are and thanks once again.
I guess all this to say I've learned to love this no nonsince truck. It's rough riding, gear jamming, eye watering fun. I wouldn't give it up for a brand new truck. Thanks once again for all the support and help over the past months. When I get time I may attempt to get the cruise control operational again... But then again maybe not!
So do you take the shell off when you get ready to 5th wheel? I ask because I love my shell. Fish and hunt a lot and carry a ton of crap I don't want wet or lifted out of an open bed. I have access to a 5th wheel anytime I want but don't use it because of the shell. Sucker is heavy. Do you have a lift or just get a buddy to help?

I have a car lift but can never get to it when needed. I've tried the finger smashing method, works but iffy at best. Years ago I picked up a couple of this style jack at a yard sale cheap. Works out great! I have a roll around table that is the same size as the truck bed so I just lift up the shell drive out, roll the table under and lower the shell on to it. I can push it around my self... Quick and easy. I know they are available at e trailer and a few other places on line. I'm the same way... Love the shell when using the boat. Especially when I'm out all night, lock the goodies in it and not another thought. It's really easy this way.
Lt315/75r16 and yes they are on the stock rims. It might rub on the front outer bumper plastic if you are in full turn and fully compress the shock. I've blasted the desert pretty hard and never noticed any rub, no damage found either. I'm not sure Which leveling kit I purchased. It was an eBay kit with the track bar spacers. Went to have it aligned and they said it was good and did nothing. Very pleased.
Oh sorry, I blasted down to the desert after work about a month ago. It was dark upon arrival. I was up and out of there by sunrise as it was already heating up. Didn't even think about truck pics. If this Rev 12, September 23'rd thing doesn't pan out I will get some this next season.
I am lucky enough to have a garage with a 12 foot ceiling that I can lift my topper off with load straps and store it against the ceiling. After I lift it off and get it hoisted up I add safety chains in case a load strap decides to slip.

Lots of ways to skin a cat... Good call. Un fortunate for me my garages are stuffed with... Non essentials! the shop is a round roof kuansit hut.
