GOLDIE's Salvation [wreck recovery + upgrades]

Hey my Georgia F100 friends, starting repairs to my 68 F100 "Yucatan Explorer" You can see by my avatar photo what she looked like when purchased. . . Here are some photos to show damage and some new and some salvaged parts and some repairs underway. . .

They backed out of their driveway and clipped passengers front. . . The good news is I had previous rust damage from battery in this corner and had to replace the rad core support and inner fender anyway!

A pillar is very solid, as well as cab support. . . I do have a few small holes that need patching on both floor boards though!

While I have this opened up I am going to clean up the firewall and do my 3G alt. conversion as well!

Needed to repair all of this anyway so it was nice to have her insurance pay for the parts and my labor!<br/>

Yeah they were tough to deal with! 2 months of negotiating. . . What won them over was my documentation/photos to back up the higher valuation!

I was going to rip you a new one with that body work lol.

Please dont do patina. I build customs and classics, nothing looks better than a nice paint job.

Well, let me start by saying everybody has an opinion. . . But you don't know why I chose to go this route, it could be that when I started exploring all the panels and said condition, this truck has way too much bondo to do a full on paint restoration ( also, there are probably 6 to 7 layers of paint on the rest of the truck so I decided to go this route)

No problem B. Texan. . . I bought the truck for my woodshop truck and someone wrecked into her. Long story short decided to try my hand at fixing her up myself. . . Wish I had the tools to do a better job. . . (My landlord is wondering if I am running a body shop since I started!. Found tons of bondo and about 6 or 7 layers of paint and the last one was a $200 special and they played it on thick!!! Maybe one day I can afford to take her to a pro such as yourself! Thanks
