I had issues at 20k 40k 60k etc with brakes on my 2008 2011..seems the twin piston calipers would stick or one of them and the pads would crack and wear bad...must be my towing.. the 2016 I have has been great.. it had some squeal early on but finally cleared.. has 70k now..new brake design I see on the 2016.
My 99 I went with stoptech slotted rotors and hawk LTS pads. Overall I was happy, I had slotted previously from like 10 years ago as well. Drilled I didn't care for, made too much noise for my liking. At the time autoanything was best deal, you'll have to do some checking. EBC is well branded and liked, they'd do well I am sure...
All in, pretty easy and everything fit perfect. Took a test drive and brakes have good stopping power (well as easy as I would let them) Best of all, no more annoying
squeak.
I haven't looked at the service manual regarding brakes. Are the rotors on these trucks easy to replace or are they pressed on and require special tools?
