My son and I are building a '51 for my son's sixteenth birthday. I have a '68 model 302 and a toploader 4-speed (3/overdrive) to swap in it. The previous owner had already swapped to a 302/c4 and removed the clutch z-bar.
Have any of you guys made this swap and can you give any guidance?

What is the 4 speed trans from...that you are calling a 3/overdrive?
Marty here is a few pics of what I did . In the pic you will see the bell Crank I am following Mike AKA Rimrock on the design of his bell crank. Also you can see the slave cylinder . It appears to be working or at least it pushes the clutch arm and I can turn the trans. Hope maybe this might help . George
