Still shopping for the right springs. I talked with this company today and they have stock springs and what they call street rod springs which are 5 leaf. You can also choose if you want to drop or raise your ride height by 1, 2, or 3 inch on the stock or street rod springs. Has anyone used these springs?
I have not. What I do know, while they are not the cheapest, they are the real deal made with quality spring steel, tempered and peened and the rest of it. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for, if you're lucky. They may have been an OEM supplier, I think they have a boatload of specs going way back because of it. Shipping is what costs on these. If there's a large truck shop nearby you can probably have some made up for you at a competitive price.
I just replaced the stock rear springs on my 51 F-1 today. I had contacted Eaton Detroit, but the price for a pair was over $700 not including shipping. I shopped around and ordered a set from General Spring in Kansas city. They are Dayton (Stanley) springs, manufactured in Harrisburg, Pa. They have been building springs there since 1935 and are the second largest supplier in the US. Because the original springs are not a stock item for most retailers they had to be special ordered. It took 3 weeks from the time I ordered them, until I received them. Total cost with shipping $327.00. They were dropped off at 4PM today and I installed them right away. fit perfect and look good.
harleyman do you know if they have rear lowering springs I go to K.C. often and could pick them up. I will give them a call. This is one thing I like about this site I learn about all different vendors.

I don't know about lowering springs but I'd suggest you call them.
my two cents, I ordered new coil spring with 2" drop from eaton, when I put them on there was no drop. I called them and told them there was no drop. they told me to ship them back at my cost and they would sent me another set. Screw eaton springs. Now, I feel a lot better.
