I am currently rebuilding this engine and I need to replace the distributor. The markings that I find on the distributor shaft are DOZF 12131A Motorcraft. My question is does this line up with your information?
If I cannot find a NOS distributor, then I will need to go to a auto supplier (Summit Racing for example) and give them the truck yr. plus the engine size and order it and hope it works.
I have also considered going to a Petronics. Any recommendations here?
I "think" any 57-73 distributors will fit. It would be well worth the effort to have any replacement distributors ignition advance curved for your particular engine. Trust me on this. Reason being the odds of getting a replacement that has the innards already setup correctly for your 66 352 are about nil.
Some of the remanufactured units too, aren't very good about having correct dimensions (length) for example, and things like that. And they always seem to come supplied with absolute junk points and condenser. There isn't really anything wrong with running points and condenser, despite what you might hear, but they absolutely have to be good NOS, not made out of recycled beer cans. They may only last a few minutes. Good points are usually fine for 10k miles, condensers almost forever.
There are a couple good places to have a new or used dizzy setup that I know of, Faron Rhoads in Penn. and Bubbas Ignition service, Indiana. I'm sure there are others. It's very important that the distributor is squared away, it's the "brains" of the entire ignition system. Hope this helps.
Awaiting with bated breath for Bill's, Numbers Dummy, or other member's response. IMO, I would consider upgrading to Electronic Ignition. I can recall there were a number of occasions where getting the engine started on a cold winter morning could be a major pain in the backside. Switch to electronic ignition; in my case, DS ll, problem solved. Not familiar with Pertronix, seem to recall members tend to give the upgrade favorable reviews. Price wise, which system one decides to go with, cost about same. I swapped the point dizzy for the EI dizzy and saved the cost on 'core charge', then purchased all the components for DSll from local Napa auto parts.
Look, if you think I'm giving bum advice, say so. Don't need to be a dick about it.
This is the first thread in all these years where I have had to respond to the negative. What is your problem, suggest you take your med's and relax. When I posted there were no other comments, apparently took me long to compose comments, seem to recall mentioning I would be looking forward to them, with your attitude now I will reconsider. The OP inquired about electronic ignition 'pertronix so thought I would address the issue. You do not need to be a " dick" about it!!!!!!!!
I would like to thank each of you for your constructive comments. I took my old distributor down to the Napa store and let the "gray beard" expert Mike take a look at it.
He examined it and pronounced it to be sound. So I am buying new points, condenser, rotor, cap and plug wires (and o ring).
Sometimes when I write something it does not come out as I intended (my wife can attest to that). So I think the same thing happened in some previous comments.
This is the best forum for getting good information and in a timely manner. Let me give you an example of how good the folks are on this forum. A member from Colorado is sending me (Tennessee) a very hard to find part just for the postage. What a nice guy and there are a lot more nice guys in the forum.

D0ZF is 1970 Mustang, but the number on the dizzy base is not listed in the 1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog.
ID number would read either: D0ZF-12127-C (M/T) or D0ZF-12127-G (A/T) = 1970 Mustang 428 4V Cobra Jet.
