body control module key chime 99 F250

Changed my body control module

All was fine for about 3 months and now the key in chime chimes whether the door is open or not.

Unless, it has been raining, or sometimes it will stop if I hit the steering wheel with the palm of my hand.

Anybody have a similar experience? My hand hurts!

Don't you mean you changed the GEM ? Raining? windshield leak on the fuse panel or gem.
I'd say wiggle things when it happens.

right, the gem, bcm is gm language.

I should have said the chime happens whether the key is in or not, when the door is closed, it stops.

Don't think it's a water leak, I keep this thing in a carport

Figured it out

It was that little tab that goes to ground in the ignition switch
