anti freeze by the distributor
While changing the distributor to a pertronix ignition I noticed anti freeze fluid in the distributor valley mainly on the drivers side. I'm not familiar with the y-block as much as a SBC. Would the head gasket be leaking, I have not signs in the oil or in the performance of the truck.

could be intake manifold, t-stat housing or even an heater hose or fitting, head gasket is possible but not likely.
dry it off, and if you don't have a pressure tester run it for awhile and see what shows up. If you can't find it bring it to a local shop and have them pressure test it.

A small leak at the thermostat housing or the bypass hose could run down the valley cover and end up in the area by the distributor. The tube in the thermostat housing and the one in the water pump connection for the bypass hose are notorious for rotting away.
