tell your "the one that got away" story
Here's mine: around 2010 maybe I was at work cruisin CL for trucks. I decided to try some neighboring areas that weren't my area but an hour or two away. Then I saw it....it was an 81 or 82 silver 150. 4x4.......(ttb doesn't bother me).....standard trans......now I'm sweatin.....long bed....oh dear......and drum roll.....300 six, not running..perfect! Clear title..and the price is like six hundee..I'm droolin....we have an emergency.... 911! Road trip....like NOW!!!! Funds...and trailer....we must acquire stat....
So I called or texted and it was sold. But, the seller had not gotten his money.....maybe....I still have a chance......he was going to let me know. So nothing ever happened. I never got it. Tears.....

I missed out on a MINT 86 F150 few years back, By the time I got the location of the truck, the scrap guy hauled it off. The old lady just GAVE it to him....... She though it was me getting it.....
Many many years ago, lost out on a 84 Bronco, could not get the $$$ up for it and somebody else got it.
But this year I got a 91 F150 Excab long bed for $200. Now I just need to swap engine and trans into it.

I cant remember any thing that "got away" Ford or other wise but do have part of a truck that got away.
When looking for my project truck I also found my parts truck by the time I bought my project truck some of the needed parts were sold.
I saw when posted the doors and tail gate were gone. When I called the seller also said the motor radio/heater controls were sold.
It would of been nice to have the doors for the door panels (why the doors were sold), and because I was moving the AC and duel tanks to mine I needed the controls (the dash was broken to get the controls out so need to fix that).
Don't really need the motor but need the AC brackets and the air filter that went with the motor.
I do have to thank members as they sent me heater/AC controls and another duel tank control.
So my story I got the truck but parts got away.

Saw an 84 Stepside on C/L a few years ago. About 2 hours away. Lo miles, looked decent in the pictures, price was decent. Called and talked to the owner a few times. He worked strange hours, never could get together and set up a time to meet.
