I am a new user and wish to greet existing users "Hello". I had originally posted to another forum and decided that I needed to post again to this forum.
I have a 1998 F150 and the potentiometer that works the "Cool - Warm" function has now gone bad five times. The second time I decided that the actuator motor on the blend door must have gone bad to be causing this and replaced the actuator also. The door seemed to move freely when I was changing the actuator so this should not be a factor. The potentionmeters work for one to three weeks before totally quitting. There is a period prior to total failure that it can take some jiggling to make it work. I have also checked drawings for grounding points to make sure that the grounds (that I have found) are good. Any help will be appreciated.
Are the replacement parts your using new, used, or reman? Sounds odd to have so many go bad. If your getting them from a parts house try going to a different one. Maybe the ones your getting are from a bad batch.
