Swapped out fuel filters yesterday and got some air in the line (don't ask me how). Initially got a low fuel pressure alert and then a reduced engine power alert at which time check engine light came on. Resolved air leak and was able to clear check engine light with Edge Insight CTS (color touch screen) which I simply use for instrument cluster, reading and clearing codes. Truck seems to be running fine now with no alerts or check engine light etc., however, when I really get on it instrument cluster is still alerting a fuel pressure issue (p008A fuel pressure too low). I believe there is probably still a small amount of air in there. Is this something that will simply resolve itself with driving or do I need to bleed the line? Thanks, G.
As long as the primary fuel filter is butted up to the stop and the seal is good there, I. e not sucking air, you should be able to cycle the key over and over till you hear all the air bleed out.
The two problems i have heard about with changing the filters are the primary filter not completely sealing and allowing air to be sucked into the system, which is what it sounds like to me. The other is the quick connects under the hood not being fully seated and popping off, don't think this would cause a low pressure code thou. Sounds like you checked and sealed the primary thou so i'm not sure. You got lot's of fuel in the tank? Maybe try cycling the key a bit more with lot's of fuel in the tank.
