New (to me) Excursion Day HELP NEEDED! subjects may change
I just bought a 2000 Excursion XLT today with 125,000 miles and very well taken care of. I used to own a 2001 F350 long bed 4 door dually V10 but the gear ratio was 4.3... For my needs, a 3.73 fits the bill perfectly. I had traded the F350 for a 98 Chevy C2500, 5.7, 3.73 but I do NOT like how Chevy thinks. I understand Ford and Dodge, but Chevy has to do it their own way....
So, it's been 4 or 5 years since I've owned a Ford but I am now gladly back in the family... And I got 13 mpg on the way home on the very tied up 405 from Bellflower up to the valley....
Anyways, next step is stereo...... I think I'm gonna get a basic video unit and use my iPhone apps in the car. Or maybe you guys have some ideas????
I picked up a Bluetooth radio for a little over $100, and it was the best thing I bought so far. Takes it to a whole new level! There's definitely some good stuff out there!
I just got back from Pacific Stereo..... Gonna use some of my old stuff from the Chevy, woofer(kicker and Cerwin Vega amp), amp for door speakers(J&L), and I picked up a Kenwood DDX6903S
They installed stereo today, and tomorrow morning I go back for them to finish the back end and amp wiring. The idea is to use the iPhone thru the stereo when I'm in the car. I'll take pics when it's done.
Ok I need some parts and having HUGE issues finding them.
Need a new cup holder assy
need new overdrive cap and button
Need a new roof rack and a small bit of rust removal
Need the small back lid for the console
I supposedly have those "collison/backup" sensors but haven't heard any go off?
good set of carpeted but not overly expensive mats.
