So my right blinker is blinking really fast, after working fine for about a week. Nothing changed. I checked all bulbs and they're working fine. I repeat: ALL BULBS ARE GOOD (I know someone will just read title and comment). Truck has a service body on it with LED brake lights. Thought maybe the LED lights didn't have enough draw for the system to detect a good bulb, but left side works fine. Swapped bulbs from left side to right, still right side blinks fast. I even removed left rear brake light and it still flashes normally.. So not sure what's going on. Light control module??
Well the dealer is giving a little push back on just turning off the fast flash crap. Saying that they need to talk to someone higher to see if it's a safety feature that shouldn't be disabled.. If it's constantly blinking fast, but all bulbs are good, it's not doing a bit of good anyways because I won't know when a bulb is actually out.. So just turn the damn thing off!! Anyways, the saga continues.
I'm going to check to make sure the fuse isn't loose or something, causing it to think that a bulb is out. I already replaced both front bulbs and used dielectric grease on them. No difference. Also, the rear lights don't affect it at all. If the blinkers are working normally, even if I disconnect the rear lights, they continue to blink normally. But if I disconnect a front bulb, it forces it into fast flash mode immediately. So I guess it could be a loose wire somewhere, or finicky BCM.. But either way, I just want it turned off. I told the dealer that I can't just leave the truck up there for a few days while they try to find an intermittent problem. I hope they just do the easy thing and turn it off for me.
I find that bs from the dealer. That info you showed them is from someone higher up in Ford. The Ford engineers wrote the BBAS to identify the problem and the fix.
I would go to another dealer and ask them to turn it off or to the installer of the body and see if they can turn it off.
Or, see if you can get current dealer to turn off and you tell them you accept responsibility.
