Rancho RS9000 Shocks

I just received my new Rancho RS9000 shocks and was wondering how to turn the adjustment ****? The **** seems to hit part of the shock and are very hard to turn. These are still on my workbench and I have not released the shocks. Will they adjust easier once the shocks are released? How can you tell what number you have it adjusted to since they is no indication for reference on the shock body?

It would be nice if Rancho provided some instruction in the box.

Thanks!

Thanks Mike but still don't understand why the dial is so hard to turn. Maybe it will be easier once the shocks are released and installed.

Never using them myself, I would assume at this point it's because they are still locked. I bet once you release them they will work just fine.

If you still have them on the bench, give them a couple of coats of clear paint, it will preserve their looks for much longer.
On mine I pulled the little plate the adjusters mount through and gooped some white lithium grease into that cavity, they still turn easily four years later.

Hi guys, sorry for the long delay but I was away on vacation.

Mike, I'm hoping they do turn easy once they are released.

Tom, they are still on the bench and I was going to do exactly what you mentioned. The shocks are now silver coated instead of white so I'm hoping they will look good for a long time.

Definitley lube them. I need to pull mine and do that too. I've had them a few months, they are already starting to rust and the ***** are a real pain to turn. I'm never really sure how much I've adjusted them and I've been tricked in to thinking they are fully adjusted when they are not.
