still confused about rotor sizes on 05-07
made me think if i have 13 why not see if can convert to 14 in
did a pretty long search here and foud a bunch of posts but never really got a definitive answer if a 250/350 came with 14 inch and if it can be changed over
from what i gather 450 and 550 may have the larger rotors but other posts say they may have been on some of the 3/4 and one ton trucks too
so question is if i have the smaller rotors can i reasonably switch to the larger size rotors. i understand wheel clearance issue and the need to move out the calipers and/or change them
thanks
So yes, the F-450 and F-550 have substantially larger brake rotors, along with 19.5" wheels and tires. The rear axle is a medium-duty Dana S110, and the front axle may or may not be the same as yours. Some Super Duty pickups got the Super 60 and some did not, but all F-450s had them.
You'll need new caliper mounts and front calipers at a very minimum, and I have absolutely no idea if any of that will bolt up to your axles. Unless you have 20" wheels I doubt your wheels will fit over the calipers.
I've never heard of someone doing this, are your brakes not doing it for ya? There are other much more cost effective upgrades such as braided brake lines and high performance pads.
thanks, that is pretty much what i had red but condensed in one chart
i have seen it said a time or two that the harley trucks may have had the larger rotors too but haven't been able to confirm
also on the above chart do u know what years it covers?
