Well it stopped raining for like a half hour and so I fired up the tonner panel and the two ton and drove them down into 'the hole' and got some pictures. In case that's not quite enough jailbar trucks, don't forget the woodie in the red shop. I don't even want to talk about the kind of driving I had to do in the two ton to free the stuck clutch. When it busted loose I slipped it over and over in 4th and now it works like (excuse the latent new england) Buttah.
There have been a lot of folks that havent seen the video a guy made for me. He is a hollywood guy that has a summer place here in the islands. His wife is a director and because they wanted to they filmed my warped oddesy with my tonner panel. I don't know how to post it but maybe someone can. It's on vimeo and they called it 'truck detail string out'
Awesome video GB!!!
Is that a 300TD lurking in the background of the one photo?
Thanks for putting that video up newold! And WB yes a 300 TD. Euro spec, naturally aspirated, roll up windows plain jane. I bought it from the original owner who bought it in Germany. Runs great, leaks some rain water and recently developed a noise like rear wheel bearing. Had been my wife's commuter for a couple years, but it needs some fixin'.
Was stationed at Ft. Lewis back in the 80s and it rained a LOT there. Oddly it always seemed to quit by 0630 though, about the time we'd all go running PT a few miles in formation. I figured the sergeant major cut a deal with the guy upstairs or something.

I worked at a MB dealership for about a year. Those Euro cars are a parts man's nightmare. They don't have books for them and have to just guess if a part is right or not. 300 wagon is one of my favorite MB's, kinda rare.
What kind of mileage does it get? How many miles on it? Rust? Dependable? I might be interested, my old Aerostar is getting pretty shabby and I'm looking for a knock-about. Wagon is a plus 'cause I'm always hauling crap.
I think it's about 300 km so 150 us or so. Starts runs drives nice. Not rusty. I did front brakes, glow plugs, battery , new alternator then starter. We could do the rear wheel bearing if it needs it. Fuel gauge not work. Internet could tell you about mpg. It does get good mileage because of being NA. I paid a grand and it had sat for 5 years in their driveway. Then did the work, She drove it for about 2 years, 24 mile round trip. Heater switch is an old oven **** from a kenmore range . She ran it on broil. 1200.00?
