Running Board Patch Panel:

I posted in the "Want" adds with no results so I figured I would try here.I need a patch panel approx. 12 inches by 12 inches that include all the ribs for a running board 1948-1952 F-1.Willing to pay a fair price.I thought maybe someone might have a junkie board that would at least have one good place.

I do make a Patch, where the fender and bd meet. For a F-2 through 8, but will fit a F-1 with a minor mod.
Looking for someone to send me a rotted f-1 section (useable for a pattern) and they will get a free pair of patches for their trouble!

I am talking about a patch for the running board itself. If you could make these I am sure a lot of owners would be interested. The running board has braces underneath and they fill with trash and rust from the bottom up through the board.

Here's a photo of Fender patch and even the lower fender extender patch.

Patch on the right is for the f-2 through F-8, but it is easily modified for F-1. As mentioned before, Can someone send me a F-1 rusted out section like above?

Lower Fender extender patch.

Cat see why not. Ford was very "Cost sensitive" F-2 to F-8 fenders were the same.
F-1's were different cause of the width.

The fenders are the same for F2-6. F7-8 fenders are much larger. The patch you make is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, but to make it work on an F1 fender it needs a lot more work to modify than you think. I bought a pair and see it will take a complete rework of the panel to fit an F1. The inner brace needs to be cut out, the outer cut in half and a filler piece welded in, and then the inner will need to be remade and reinstalled. For me, it would be simpler to make one from scratch rather than modify those. If you could make a specific F1 patch, that would be wonderful.

I have had many F-1 users make the mod by Cutting vertically by the 90 degree bend and add a straight piece of sheet metal.

I am looking for a section of an F-1 to make new dies specifically for the F-1..
Mine was an F-5.

Seems like you could find a local fabrication shop in your area to make the panel for you. Smoothie Fabrication is in NC and has some nice custom running boards Smoothie Fabrication - Home

There was a time when Smoothie Fabrications made running boards for the 53-56 F100's but don't see them listed anymore, wonder why? I bought a pair for my panel from them but they didn't fit very well, maybe that's why...

So I think you are looking for just the top of the running board with the raised groove.
Reamer tell me if this F1 rear fender cutout is ok for you.

The lower corner is completely gone.

This is the match up

Yes,I am looking for just the top of running board with all the raised groves. There have probably been a lot of running boards thrown away that had good patch panels that could have been used!

I have cut up running boards before to send someone an end piece, etc.
I may have something still kicking around. I can look if your not in a huge hurry?
I figure i may end up having to peice together a set of long boards for my f2 if i cant find decent enough ones to start with? If that happens id for sure have patch peices
