96 f150 4.9l where is bank 2 sencer 1

code came up on my 1996 f-150 xl 4.9l P0155 I know there is three o2 sensors but I can't figire out where the bank 2 sensor 1 is .I know sensor one means upstream so there is now two sensors up stream .one on each manafold . Witch sensor is it the one on the manafold closer to the firewall or the one on the manafold closer to the radiator? Can anyone help me please ?

Bank 1 is always with cylinder 1. So since a i6 is 1-6 front to back, bank 2 would be the rear 3 cylinders.

Ok I understand bank 2 sensor 1 is on the closest manifold to the fire wall (cylinder 3) ..bank 1 sensor 1 is front of engine manifold closest to radiator (cylinder 1) and bank 1 sensor 2 is on/ after the cat ?

I need an update on this. I have a 1996 i6 and I’ve got a p0155. Bank 2 sensor 1, I replaced the sensor but I still have the code. Was the bank 2 sensor one the sensor closest to the firewall like you stated? Because that’s what I changed and if so what should I do next since I replaced it and have the same code.

Did you clear the code after you replaced it?

Is your exhaust donut /flange seated properly? if it can be wiggled or your exhaust leaks anywhere before it etc it can still throw a code. also i gather vacuum leaks on intake at that threaded fitting can potentially throw a bank off but im not certain on that

I believe my exhaust is straight but now that I think about it I do have an old can the previous abuser used as a seal I’m not for sure if it’s part of the vacume but I know it’s not completely sealed being an aluminum can. Can I post pictures to this? I’m trying to give this ole thing the love it needs

yea I cleared it still have the same code.. the only physical thing I can notice is slightly rough idle and my gas mileage is wacked. I also have a code for air temperature sensor circuit along with the o2 heater circuit. Last two problems I have to fix I’ve been slowly bringing it back to life but I’m stuck on this o2 issue

thank you I’m gonna do some comparing tomorrow and see if I’m missing anything and will post a picture of my aluminum can seal. Will be fixed soon but I want to know if it’s part of the vacuum. Slowly coming along So far I’ve done plugs wires, distributor and rotor, coolant temp sensor, o2 sensor “still have p0155”, flushed trans fluid, flushed rear end fluid. I have an air temp sensor circuit code and wondering if my pcm is the issue since the o2 code never changed after replacing. Ordered a air temp sensor be here Tuesday so I will find out. If neither repairs fix the codes I’m thinking I need a new computer.

air temp sensor is on the air cleaner, the connector on mine is loose fitting and replacing the filter you prob left it unhooked

I replaced the air temp sensor. Down to only the o2 heater code. I don’t wanna give in and go to a shop but I think I’m gonna have to because I don’t have The time to find where the communication problem is happening between sensor and computer. I’ve used my meter and tested all I could.

You havent shown any pics.... or demonstrated you narrowed anything down. You got a propane torch? Unlit, use it while engine is running, cold start, around the manifold (dont let it get hot) , im being cautious saying this but just dont go sticking propane onto a egr valve for example and then you got heat lol. Try the dipstick tube. Try the intake duct all the way to the maf. try the throttle body try the valve cover near the vac tank etc.

whats the life data on these o2 saying? whats the definition of your code? Hows your vacuum brake booster line, evap can and purge valve. how about the hvac tank, the recirc thing on the pass side. whats your Exhaust connections look like. Take a pic at your connections.

Whats your ECM ground look like? I sent a photo of mine it was ****
