You all have been a lot of help here. I really appreciate all the input and comments while I struggled with my truck. I finally found a buyer and let it go. I moved on to a 2015 Chevy 2500HD that I got a really good deal on. Will it be a good decision? Only time will tell but hopefully this truck gives me less trouble than the F250 I just sold.
Tugly, Sous, ExPAcamper, Tkegs, Walleye, Jaime are just a few that I really want to thank. I don't have a lot of knowledge about the 7.3 but I'll check in every once in a while.
Congrats and condolences... Just kidding, you have to do what is right for you, your family and your own personal situation. A couple of good friends of mine have Chevy HD's and they are pretty good trucks.
Don't be a stranger, and you still have to post a picture of the Chevy in order to stay in good standing with FTE.
I know you were struggling with a truck that was used hard and not maintained properly before you got a hold of it. They can be VERY frustrating when I string of things goes wrong. Just when you think you have a handle on one thing, another pops up. It is overwhelming sometimes. The Chevy not-with-standing, you probably made a good decision. Hopefully you passed the information on to the new owner about this site and we can continue helping get that truck better and better.
Good luck and have fun with your new truck. There is much life to live and spending it all under an old truck is not so much fun, not to mention how expensive it is.
These old trucks are like dating a Supermodel...high maintenance and expensive! And no matter how great they are someone is tired of their crap! Lol Good Luck!
Sorry to see you leave our pitiful band, but I'm glad you found something to enjoy. I wish you luck, and we'll be here for you when you find a great deal on a pristine 7.3L Superduty.
I know the struggle, my truck was neglected for quite some time before I got it but things did iron out.. If my luck didn't turn around mine would have went down the road too so don't feel too bad.. Besides, those 2500's can be stout!
I pick the new truck up on Saturday. I'll post pictures soon!
The amount I got from the F250 does pay off my 2012 Electra Glide so I am very happy about that
I picked it up Saturday. So far I'm loving it. Can hardly wait to hook up my fifth wheel and hit the road with it.
It has a gooseneck in the bed and the brand is Pop Up Hitch, website www.popuphitch.com I need to find a fifth wheel plate that fits.
