2011 6.7 Transmission

Anyone out there have any input on replacing the entire transmission valve body or just individual shift solenoids? My truck has begun experiencing a harsh shiftfrom 1st to 2nd under light acceleration accompanied by occasional shift flare from 2nd to 3rd and 5th to 6th. I have located parts to do either job, but wondered if someone here may have actual experience in doing this. It looks straight forward from just disconnecting the harness. I also understand there are different bands associated with the solenoids. Is there a requirement to have new transmission programming to accompany swapping these components? Thank you in advance.

Have you taken the truck to the dealer to have the calibration updated to the latest version?

The transmission shift strategy has been vastly updated since 2011, so if the truck has never had a re-flash, you could be experiencing shifting issues that have since been corrected with just a simple update.

I have narrowed my shifting issue down to my custom tune. I reloaded the custom tow tune and it has been acting normal since then. However, the custom tune did not exibit the shift problems for 10,000 miles or so. There has to be something very minor such as fluid, shift solenoids, & ect that is slightly different and the new shift strategy brings it out. My plans are to drop the pan, change the filter, and replace the fluid. If this doesn't help I have been thinking of trying another custom tuner anyways. Thanks for the reply.
