Do you use E85?

Do you have larger than stock tires?

Are you hand calculating or relying on the computer?

Any towing?

I just traded in my 6.7 for a 5.0 f150 had to down size it is a 2013 and it gets the same I was also wondering about that my f250 had 38 super swampers and got better than that, I have a 99 dodge with 24v Cummins as a beater and it gets way better fuel mileage what is the deal with that is something wrong with this truck it was bought used

Mine is showing 16 and it's very cold here and I'm driving in town and idling quite a bit. 11 seems really low.

I just recently bought a 2012 screw 5.0 and I'm getting the same mileage on mine before and after being 5 star tuned.

I made a thread about it in another forum, but basically my computer was saying 14ish miles to the gallon (all city) for a week after i got it, then I tested my locking rear dif and was having trouble getting it to disengage and ended up trying all sorts of things and finally had to turn the truck off and back on again to get it to disengage.

Seems like right around this time my mpgs dropped way down to 11-12 mpg constantly, and I've also noticed that i get exactly the same mileage with 4wd high engaged.

My theory is that something got messed up and the hubs up front are stuck engaged and even though all 4 wheels arent getting power, the axles are still moving and putting extra stress on the drivetrain due to the way the vacuum system works on these new fords while engaging 4wd.

I need to take it into ford to have them look at it but ive been too lazy

Hell I can get down into the 9's in the winter if its cold enough, idling kills MPG in a hurry add in winter fuel, cold temps..ect

The front hubs being engaged will not cause much if any decrease in MPG.

Why would I be getting the same mileage in 2wd and 4wd, though?

On my truck I don't notice much if any increase/decrease of running in 4x4 over 2wd. What effects it 100x more is idling, cold temps, driving style, wind and terrain.

I've noticed with these newer trucks, small changes (weather, traffic..ect) can really effect your fuel consumption one way or another.

Interesting good to know. I'm gonna take her in and get it looked at on Monday, because I still feel like 11 mpg is much much lower then most people are getting
