Have a 1951 F1 and am wondering what the heck this VIN/ID plate is. It's in the usual spot on the left top (passenger side) of the firewall. Does anybody have any information they could share? Just bought the truck, took this pic and the truck won't be here for a few weeks so can't look for frame or glove box tag to see what they are until then. Just curious as it looks weird compared to what I've seen.
That's a Canadian tag, located in the corner where US production affixes the patent plate on the firewall. I'm guessing the truck is a 51 F1 with the deluxe cab trim. Decoding info is not available, except the last line, 21, matches the color code on the VIN tag located on the upper center of the firewall. Post your numbers when you get the truck and we can decode your VIN for you.
HeHe, it's in a thousand pieces but looks to be stock. Been sitting in dry storage for over 25 years with stock flathead 8.
Thanks 52 Merc, will do! am looking forward to starting this project next winter as another project has to get done first.

Thanks!!
OK, I don't have all of the codes but here is what I can tell you
81 = Cab & Chassis (no bed)
B = Deluxe trim
OK, I'm stumped! The tag n the glove box door has the GVW and nothing else. The frame is very clean and there is no vin on the passenger frame rail above the front brake, cleaned the firewall and no vin in the middle near the seam there either. Is there anywhere else I could look? Did Canadian trucks have a different location? Is it possible to decipher from the tag I posted? I just feel dumb ....

As noted, Canadian frame stampings are on the left side where the steering box is located, and pretty much over the sector shaft pass through.
There's nothing on the corner firewall tag that corresponds to the VIN. Most of what's there is a mystery, and only some of it can be guessed at based on other knowledge.
