F650 & F750 Frame, 80k or 120k PSI High Strength
Wow, I was just reading the specs of the 2016 F650 & F750..... Interesting read on the High Strength Steel they use for the C-Channel frame.
2016 F-750 Super Duty Features
The F-750 Ford Super Duty Diesel truck with a straight frame configu- ration offers ratings from 30,200 lbs. GVWR up to 37,000 lbs. GVWR. The F-750 Super Duty offers distinctive features that contribute to its popularity in the Class 7/8 market. Among them are:
>80,000 psi straight “C” channel, 10.250" high strength steel frame is standard
>Optional 120,000 psi single channel and double channel frames are available
It would have been nice to at least include 80,000 psi HS Steel in the F250-F450 line as an upgrade to the 2015+ models. Would have been a nice interum upgrade until 2017 SDs with boxed frames are released.
