I fueled at one that had the DEF at the pump last weekend. I have been pumping diesel for 7 years but I had to read the instructions to make sure I didn't put DEF in the diesel tank. At first glance I thought they had DEF coming out of the diesel nozzle. After reading the instructions I realized the DEF was a separate nozzle.

When in doubt, give the nozzle a sniff test before preceding to pump your fuel

I definitely make sure I am not distracted when fueling or putting DEF in. If something distracts me I stop until that distraction is taken care of. (Cell phone, wife, kids, whatever) At least in the picture is appears by the grease that Diesel is the GREEN Handle and Green hose going to the Green button. I had to look close though because I figured it would be reverse.

That setup does SUCK though.

I do a sniff and a look with the first "squirt" of fuel. Had to do a second sniff and feel the first time up in Alaska when winter fuel hit (in September) as the fuel came out clear instead of green. Thought they filled up the Diesel tank with regular fuel.... Turns out it was mostly Kerosene/#1 fuel.

Ohh and up here, the hoses in the Northern part of the state are thick BLUE arctic grade hoses... Something else to mess with your mind.

I've seen on our way to Florida. A gas pump with green indicator, green handle but was regular gas. Diesel was on a separate pump. There should be a standard for color coding of fuel pump handles.

Green button on the left. Green pump on the left. Diesel pump always covered in sticky, black, coagulated fuel. Seems pretty straightforward to me. One thing I do like about the pic is the big "Contains No Ethanol" sticker!

That would be a BP station. I was a victim of that about 10 years ago - that and I was distracted by a woman asking directions. I learned the hard way.

I fuel at a local station that has a seperate island for the Diesel and Non-ethanol gas. Virtually impossible to mix them up with the station's setup. I don't worry about DEF!

Darn

I would just go to another station.

I think it is green.

I might pump some into jar to make sure it diesel.

Darn. I could not blame anyone for getting that one wrong.

I do like the no ethanol. I need that for the V10.

I put some diesel in a gas rental car in Italy once.
