Interesting

I think it's my time to be one of those dreaded people that just come on to the forum and vent.

You know, I come from the 6.0 forum. I used to get ragged on quite a bit for having a 6.0 and being one of the few that actually loved those engines.

However, that 6.0 never once threw a CEL, never left me stranded. Now some of that could have been what I did to it, some of that could have been I knew what the 6.0 needed or didn't need to make it last longer.

However, with this 6.7 with roughly a year of ownership, it's going to be in the shop for it's second repair for the same exact thing. The first time was 3 weeks ago.

Otherwise, I love the truck, but I'm starting to have buyer's regrets big time.

I was down on my 6.7 during the first few years owning it.. 3 bad EGT sensors, bad DEF tank, air charge cooler sensor, hvac blower went bad, a/c evaporator leak, and the transmission needing a new solenoid pack but the engine itself has been pretty much trouble free*knocks on wood*... I have my old 86 f350 that's getting a reman 6.9 diesel to use as a backup..just in case.

I know that you may simply be venting but don't hold on to a truck that you don't trust or no longer enjoy owning. Dealers all over the place to trade with to get something you will enjoy.

Next truck does not have to be a Ford.

I don't know if I would have held onto the truck after all that. Rather or not it would have qualified for lemon law or not.

Funny you should mention that. My very first truck was my Granddad's '86 F250 6.9. Rattle the teeth out of your head, but it would get you there. Sometimes I really do miss that truck.

I do agree with that sentiment and if it does happen again within a quick time frame like it has, then I'll probably be looking into another truck.

I had a short (very short) foray into another brand. Even with what's going on with this one, I can tolerate it versus what I had to deal with in the another one.

Multiple trips to the service department is definitely frustrating, tex25025; I'd like to see what I can do to make this as painless as possible. How many miles are on your truck? Is it at the dealer now? I'll start researching options.

I appreciate the the thought. Dealer had it yesterday and they said it was ready for pickup just a few min. ago.

I've dealt with this service department since the 90s, know a lot of them by name, so I know they do their best. Every now and then you just get a problem child.

Otherwise, I love the truck. I'm more of the person that likes the tech though, but that can be a PITA (as is the case now). Although, I do miss my first vehicle of freedom at times (granddad's '86 F250 6.9).

Good to see you pop in Tex... Sorry it's for a problem. My '12 with 71k miles has been a joy with no issues to date.

I did miss my 6.0PSD too... Maybe perhaps 1 nano second.

I guess this is my cosmic karma for having a really good 6.0.

It sounds like you have a great dealership, tex25025. If anything comes up in the future, don't hesitate to give me a shout.

I appreciate that and I'll be sure to keep you in mind the next time.

Otherwise I'm loving the truck, it just appears both times more of electronic gremlins then anything (based on what they are telling me). The downside to all the tech.

Yep, for sure! This is what bothers me more about new vehicles than anything else.......electronic hiccups, faulty sensors, etc!
It is one huge reason that I go for extended warranty on new vehicles!
I worry way more about this than a mechanical malfunction! Best of luck to you!
And the last diesel that I owned was not a , and really got burned by poor dealer support !
