Wink Suggestions for NEW front calipers?

I want to buy BRAND NEW, NEVER USED front calipers for my 2wd LATE '99 F350 Dually......

Having a tough time finding any.

Unfortunitly SEVERAL years ago I bought rebuilt crap from Autozone....(lifetime warranty) but can't get more than a year out of them before they start sticking......

I am understanding now that they probably have the plastic pistons, and these won't hold up in our applications......

may be I CAN try rebuilt ones from someone else that have steel pistons....
IF I am to do that where do I go guys??

I want to replace both front calipers and pads, rubber lines, clean and re-grease the slide pins, re-pack the front bearings, and be set for 100k!!

Also......hearing now that full ceramic pads aren't the way to go.......I don't tow a lot, but when I do its either my 24' car hauler @7k or our 36' TT @11k
Open to suggestions on pads as well.

Again, LATE '99 F350 DUALLY 2wd

Thanks Guys!

Did you try the stealership? That would be the only place you might find OEM new if they have them. You can get rebuilds from them that would be as good as you can get. I just go to NAPA or AutoZone and get remans. I don't like ceramics but that's just me. Ceramics eat steel and I can put new pads on cheap.

If you are only doing the "front" calipers, then you may try doing a cross reference with the early '99 F-350. The front calipers are the same for early and late 99 on the 4x4 and the e99's have steel pistons. I do not know if this holds true for the 2wd's in that model year.

I have found that most of NAPA's "Eclipse " brake parts for our trucks have steel pistons and were originally Ford parts before being reman'd...something to consider if you don't want to pay the price for NEW. I looked at their site and I do not see where they make a distinction between 2x4 and 4x4 but you do have a choice of either metal or phenolic/plastic in the 1999 model year.

If you want to convert to steel pistons for the rear that can be done also with a little extra work on one caliper but will void the warranty for that caliper.

About a month ago I looked at the '99 F250 brake caliper assembly from OReillys and they had steel pistons. I went ahead and just rebuilt mine (super easy, super cheap) so I didn't end up getting them, but they were steel. That much I can say.

I bought new calipers from my local Ford dealer a year ago. They were pricey but at least looked new.

I replaced all mine with oem pads, rotors a couple years ago on the F-250. All is working great. Did my E-350 a while back & went with AZ rotors with Hawk superduty pads. They squeak every time I stop. It stops great but the squeeking is driving me nuts. Wish I would have went oem but its done now. I'll probably get through the summer & change them out.

Amazon has (or did when I did mine) new OEM loaded calipers. Hard to beat that, and they were a good price too.
