Will a Lariat Leather Steering Wheel fit in XLT

Looking to swap out the vinyl wheel with a leather wrapped one from a Lariat. I assume that this will be a direct swap but wanted to poll the audience to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. Thanks in advance.

It will most likely swap if it is not a heated wheel. There is probably a difference in the column between the heated and not heated steering wheel trucks..

There are some darned nice steering wheel wraps out there.. That would be the direction I would take - but it's your time and money...

I would think that it should fit. Keep in mind that not all Lariat steering wheels are heated. Heated wheels come on the King Ranch and Platinum editions

Heated wheels are only on the Plats, and they are half wood. If you find one that is all leather, you won't have heat, so if heat was to be a problem due to the column, that will help you identify.

I may have worded my post poorly. It was suggested that the columns may be different in trucks with heated wheels, and therefore a wheel from a Platinum may not be compatible with what you are after. I was just pointing out that if you get an all leather wrapped wheel (assuming it is on a shelf instead of still sitting in a truck that you can identify), you will be fine. I understand you don't want heat and the logistics involved with trying to make heat work would likely be a problem anyway.

Understood, and I could see how the heat would pose a problem since it's all in the navigation unit. It is on a shelf listed as a lariat wheel (11-14)j so I assume it should work. I just don't like how the vinyl wheel gets "gummy" and "sticky" when it's humid outside. That combined with me getting in with filthy hands half of the time. Leather has proven to be easier to keep clean and not get so sticky when humid outside. Then again if I were a clean fanatic it probably wouldn't be an issue at all but I'm guilty of only doing once a year interior cleanings.
