Oil Pressure High After Oil Change!?
Greetings!
I have a '75 F250 Fe 360 2wd automatic, and I just changed the oil and filter.
I put in 10w30 and motorcraft filter. I put in 4 quarts of 10w30 and one quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer. Now when I start her up in the morning and drive her to work, the oil pressure runs high, and at temp it fluctuates. The oil gauge doesn't have numbers so I'll tell you in percentages. On the drive to work it runs at about 80-85% of the gauge, and at temp it'll fluctuate from 45%-65%.
Is this normal for having new oil put in? Should I investigate or give it time? Thanks!!

Don't trust the stock oil gauge, It's about worthless.
It is slightly better than a warning light but not by much.
If you really want to know if it's high or not, get an aftermarket gauge that actually shows the psi, like a cheapy sunpro..
Higher pressure is normal with an oil change. But the higher pressure could also be from a faulty oil filter.
As an example; Mine goes to 80 on start and once it's warmed up I get 5-10 at idle.
So until you get actual numbers no one can truly answer this question.

Lucas oil stabilizer can keep a tired engine going but has drawbacks including increased aeration which could cause pressure fluctuations. Agree an aftermarket gauge may be in order but I'd also suggest loosing the Lucas. Use heavier oil if you need it like 15W40 diesel oil or 20W50 but no oil stabilizer. The diesel oil also has enough zinc to protect the flat tappet cam.
