I just bought a 1977 F-250 4X4 and it has a powersteering conversion on it that the pump is mounted directly to the crankshaft. I have never seen a setup like this. Has anyone else? I would like to get some information on the set up. They cut the frame pretty bad to mount the steering unite.
Well I done some research and talked to an owner two owners ago. Turns out the engine is from a 1968 Lincoln. My Lincoln is a 1977 so I never had one with the power steering pump on the crankshaft. He said that was when he changed the steering cylinder too the power box style.
So what are the good and bad points of these Lincoln power steering pumps?
