Good day all. I am the proud owner of a 2013 FX4 screw with luxury package, and with under 500 miles I'm still getting used to it. I've noticed a bit of feedback coming through the rear speakers, and I was wondering if anyone else has the same?
You can hear the change in engine RPMs through a high-pitched whine coming from the rear speaker. This is something I had experienced with vehicles in the 80s, but didn't expect it in this truck. Now it's not loud at all, but still I didn't expect it. I can only hear it when I am driving with the radio off at speeds under 40 mph. Once I get over 40 the road noise is loud enough to where I don't hear it. Anyone else?
Could be electrical. Ground issue or an alternator problem. On an 07, we had to have the alternator swapped 3 times before Ford could provide one that wasn't generating some AC waveform on the DC output. This will be translated into an RPM-dependent hum through speakers, electronic equipment, etc.
My initial thought was a ground issue. My concern is, if they have to chase a ground all over the truck, it might not be put back as solid as it is now. It's my 1st "New" vehicle, so I want it to be built/operatiing correctly, but I also don't want to have to deal with more issues later from them having to take all sorts of stuff apart to find the issue!
