98 Expy left rear brake light

98 Expy left rear brake light

My left rear brake light does not come on when brakes are applied..Unless the right turn signal is on, then the brake light comes on. the upper brake midbar and right brakelight is fine. Left rear tail light works too. Have replaced bulb, does not fix.

Does the left hand signal work? It's the same filament and would expect it to also not work. Check the contacts where the bulb is inserted for possible corrosion.
Ensure ground connection is good there too.

If it were a bulb connection then it wouldn't come on when the right turn signal is activated, which it does.

I determined it is in the turn signal, I can jiggle it and the brake light comes on

Technically I think Alloro determined it was in the switch, you just confirmed it.
