F800 starting issue?

Ran the truck today, and did good. Met my wife to eat lunch in town. When I went to leave the truck would only click when turning the key? Head lights worked and wipers worked. So not the battery.
Shorted the starter out and fired it up, with the key on dash is dead, NO speed or tach or other gauges works. When you turn the key the tach will move just a bit. Any ideals what to look at or check on this? Does it have a fuze that could have blown?
Funny part is a guy pulled up trying to buy it with it not starting. And even crawled up under it and fired it off for me. And still wants it. But don't think he will offer what it would take to buy it. Think he is # 14 that has tried to buy the old truck within the last few months.
My wife is trying to get me to just sell and it buy something newer. and if it keeps having issues I may pass it along and just buy me a Volvo tractor and fix it to pull the camper with.

I moved you from General Diesel to Large truck so we may get the guys in here for a better answer since it is more a wiring issue.

Hope I am right for Pete's sake....

My first thought is a neutral safety switch, or clutch engage switch.

Would one of those make the dash not have have power also? I thought of those but did not know if it would cut all power to the key and dash.

I would think if you have no power at all to the dash it would be a central main fuse. Maybe someone around here has a wiring diagram.

Burned fusible link at the starter relay? Jump the starter relay and the truck starts.

Will try to find that and see. Not sure where the Link may be, but will sure be looking for it.
May so a little more work on the truck. Then put it up for sale. New Truck is looking better. But the new price is not LOL

Yes, it mounted on the drivers side fire wall below the master cylinder and next to the W/S washer reservoir.

Don't have a master Cylinder? And theres nothing to do with the starter there. Now there is one on the pass side frame next to the right steer tire. This truck has the 7.8 Diesel and air brakes.
Thinking its the bendix on the starter. I have it clicking again but still no start. Not sure what I did to get the power back to the dash and key?

ok, my truck has a Cummins 5.9 and uses juice brakes with Lucas Gerling parking brake system. I'll look for your set up. have you checked the wiring at the starter?

Jeff when this rain stops I plan on checking the wires at the starter. But not sure how they would stop the dash gauges from having power? I have somehow got it to click when I hit the switch now. So that tells me its something to do with a wire at the Starter or the starter its self.

Wires at the starter is tight, solenoid was clicking after hunting what it could be. So thought throw a new solenoid on it. Now it will not even click. Also checked the power on both side of the fusible link had power both sides. Blower fan for the AC and heat will not even blow. This is sure odd?
Bet its the same as it would be on a F-150 through F-350 as the cab is the same as these are. So will ask again in that section and ask it as one of the above trucks.
