I recently had a strange rattle in the left rear of my 01 EB Exped (24K miles). Ford worked on the truck for a week - end result bad shock! They replaced the left shock and control arm.
Fixed the rattling noise but, my truck now rides at about 34" on the left (driver's) side and 33" on the right (passenger) side. I took the truck back and they said the air suspension was within Ford's acceptable levels. The problem is it is NOT within MY acceptable level!!! The truck look like I have an uneven load!!
The shocks have nothing to do with the air suspension or the level of the truck. Somebody screwed up the settngs for the airbags while they worked on your truck. Ask them again nicely to fix it, and if they say no, ask for the number of the regional Ford representative. Call him/her and explain it was level going in, not coming out. It's the dealer's problem now.
Welcome to FTE Sorry to hear about your problem - this is absolutely unnacceptable. Ford has a computer that you plug in and set the yaw (or pitch? side to side) and takes about 20 minutes to adjust. This is provided that each wheel can be adjusted independently - I know the Navigators can be adjusted like this.
"Acceptable level"....bah.....
For the record - it's not going to be perfectly level - it just doesn't happen. Mine dips a bit to the left, but you can't really tell without using a level. It might also just be the difference between the one broken in shock and the brand new one - both carry the same amount of air, but one might have lost its stiffness. Either way, the answer you got was really shabby. I'd go back and speak with the service manager, and if that doesn't work, just keep heading up.
Oh, and be civil and polite - always. A little politeness goes a long way.
Thanks for the replies!!! I went back to the Ford dealership, "nicely" expressed my frustration, and they agreed to look into the problem!! That was Monday!!
I called today to check on the status. The Service manager stated that they are still working and are determined to fix the problem.
I am waiting with MUCH hope!!! I will keep you posted

You didn't say if you had just rear load levelers or 4 corner, but what it's worth, after 112K miles of heavy duty use on and off road, my '97 with four corner air still sits perfectly level.
Finally!!! I must give the dealership credit!!! They checked the motor, flushed the lines and replaced the rear air bags!!! Guess what. . . . . . the damn thing is LEVEL!!!
