hey guys quick question, Ive got a 2000 expedition that's going to the scraper with 9.75 rear end that I would like to swap into my 1998 f-150 with an 8.8 rear end. is it possible to swap over?
little info on my truck:
its a 4.6 with 35'' tires, changing gear ratio to 4.56 next month
I never accelerate hard or tow anything its just a city truck no offroading
so questions are:
will it fit (swap over) and Is it worth the swap 8.8 to 9.75 or should i just install 4.56 gears to my 8.8 and be done with it?
Well, it won't be a a direct swap because the f150 has leaf springs so some welding will be necessary, but my '97 has a stock 9.75. 4.56 gears in that rear end will make it a great towing rig, even with an 8.8
