I have a 2001 5.4 in a Supercrew and have been having some issue rough running, narrowed it down to a PO301 code when it finally came up. I swapped the coil from my 02 E250 5.4L and it seems to run smooth again still have a slight rough idle but very rarely and had 2 very short (10 seconds or less of rough running under acceleration similar to but not as bad as the bad coil) but other than those two instances which may be attributed to injector or dirty MAF I guess? It has run much better and the major problem moved with the coil to the van when I tried to run it.
So I began looking for coils and as suggested in this Forum and some others I looked into the Global auto units.
However..... that brings me to my question.... I have a part# of F7TU-12A366CD on my coils and the global auto version as advertised to fit my application does not include that part number it includes a cross reference (along with others) of F7TU-12A388 "AB" or "CO" or other ending letters. IS there any difference in these units and does anyone know what that difference is? Say between my part ending in-"CC" and one with-"CO" or "BA" or "AB"
Thanks Jerry
OK I think I answered my own question....
The core part number is the 12A366 but the part numbers can be different depending on the vendor and or part runs (like the DG numbers).
Thanks..
Man i thought being a Ford forum the answers would have been FAST!!! :-)
