Using '53 ignition switch in '50 F1?

Howdy all,

My 3-post generic ignition switch crapped out on me the other day and I wanted to go original. I bought a switch from eBay listed as an F1 switch, but it turns out it's an F100 switch.

It looks like it won't fit in the dash without cutting (grinding) which I'm obviously not going to do. Has anyone here used this particular switch in an F1? What did it take, and did it fit the original bezel? It's just a bit large to fit in so I could grind the switch, but I think the pot metal would crack.

The alternative is to use a generic 4-post and only use the three terminals, or maybe I buy a CG Ford Parts switch. Does anyone know if the cylinders interchange between 53 and 50? I paid $50 for the switch and the CG parts one doesn't come with a cylinder, so maybe I should hold on to it.

Thanks!
